“We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.” – Konstantin Jireček
I am now convinced that there are indeed loads of Africans willing to do something; in their humble ways to re-write our story; to better the circumstances of our people.
Folks it did go down at the tip of the Ngong Hills, in Nairobi Kenya, and down with the Maasai at Ole Polos. A tad bit too cold up there; a tad bit too steep for some of us office beings. But the people, the psyche, the high spirits, and the thought of bettering the lives of many bright and needy children in rural Kenya kept us going. One level after the other.
This is a BIG thank you to ya’ll who made it to the Give Okwaroh a Book (GOAB) hike – Ngong Hills Edition on Saturday 6th September, 2014.
A big thank you to ya’ll who wished us well even as we braved the bad weather. All those who continue to support us; those who send in the US$1 that makes the difference. Those who rock the GOAB T-shirt and spread the ‘word’. Those who donate the books!
A special thank you to Beryl Ooro of Ebru Africa TV for the airtime; and Ghetto radio 89.5 fm team for the coverage and show – we had so much fun doing sheng at your studios!
A roaring shout out to Kakamavu CBO; ImmanMedia, Treehouse media and Cyrco for handsomely sponsoring and supporting this event. You will find your blessing some day!
